Windows - Vista VS XP for laptop toshiromasuda - Apr 13, 2007 - 12:41 PM Post subject: Vista VS XP for laptop
I'm going to get a new laptop soon but kinda having a headache choosing to stick with XP or vista. I want to get Vista but i heard its not doing to well. I can get it burnt but then burnt stuff always screws up. So I was wondering if I should get this technet thing I was told of form the vista forum. The thing is, some people say its crap but others say its worth it..What should i do??

I had exactly the same dilemma just couple of weeks ago. I ended up buying Dell Inspiron 6400 with XP professional, my reasons were:
* Vista considered buggy
* Vista considered to be more resource hungry
* I'm familiar with XP so I won’t have to waste time navigating my way in Vista
* I don't care about the new bells and whistles in Vista, I just need a working OS
* I know the applications I'm using work on XP i.e. Apache, PHP, cygwin, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Photoshop, Nikon Capture etc and I’m not so sure about Vista
* I’d have to pay more for Vista Professional (or whatever it’s called) for no real value
so I went with XP, but you may have different requirements

With Visa it Recommend to have 1 GB Ram And it's Better on Desktop Computer than laptop because it Ram hungry, And has still got bugs problems of being slow with laptops, Also no service pack yet.
